Canada is a very prosperous country, and this makes it easy for some people to manipulate potential applicants by providing false and misleading information. There has never been a time where Canada had millions of jobs unfilled. Some of these articles have been debunked online but they are still popular in some domains. However, there are immigration programs that permits Canadian employers to hire foreign workers to fill temporary jobs when qualified Canadians are not available.

The amount of funds required per applicant depends on the immigration stream and the family size of the applicant.  The proof of funds is a requirement to ensure an applicant has sufficient funds to support themselves and their family in Canada

Every year, millions of people migrate to Canada for different reasons: visit, study, work or live permanently. Canada has positioned itself as a world leader in immigration which in turn has shaped its society and culture. It’s immigration policy is structured under three broad categories: economic class, family reunification and refugee program

Yes indeed, age is a very important factor. However, age is not an eliminating factor in most cases. An applicant too young might be considered a minor. In most cases, such a minor have to be included as a dependent in an adult application. In other cases, such an applicant might be a senior, such applicant may fall into categories such as Parent Grand-Parent program.

There are more than 40 immigration programs in Canada. Each of these programs have their various requirements. Age is only one of several factors that are utilized in determining the eligibility of the applicant.

Processing time and cost differs per immigration program. Factors such as application type, completeness, backlog, verification of information and your response time to the immigration officer’s concerns makes it difficult to predict the actual processing time.

However, there are estimated processing times for completed applications. A good example, the processing time to study in Canada will take between 10 days to 60 days, this doesn’t include the time required to put all your documents together. It also doesn’t include the time needed to give your biometrics.  A unique time expected to finalize your application will be determined during a consultation session.

There are several mediums one can utilize to get job offers from Canadian employers prior to arriving in Canada. Examples are: Networking, Agencies, Canvassing employers, Cold calling/emailing and online resources. However, we have helpful tools available through “SkillsToGetHired.com”

At Resettle In Canada Inc., we review and take the extra steps to ensure our client’s documentation are genuine and authentic. By being sincere in your documentation can greatly help in getting a successful response. Providing supporting documents and disclosing all material information relating to your application, are some of the ways in proving your documents are real. In Canada, it is a criminal offence to submit false information or misrepresent to the Government of Canada. Such misrepresentation and inconsistencies are considered deliberate acts to circumvent immigration laws.

This is a common concern to many applicants. To prove the authenticity of documents, education, and work experience, can be challenging. And a simple mistake can complicate matters. We guide our clients throughout the process on acceptable ways to show documents are authentic enough to the Canadian immigration officer that will review the application.

Canada has an opened immigration policy that is designed to attract a diverse group of people from different countries and backgrounds. This has helped in the growth of the countries labour force. With an ageing population and low fertility rates, immigration has played a significant role in supporting economic growth and innovation.

ABOUT CANADA

While your knowledge of Canada may not be tested at an early stage, its important you have some knowledge of the country you plan to visit or relocate to live.

Although, there are 4 seasons in Canada: winter, spring, summer and fall, each of the 10 provinces in Canada experience these seasons in a different way and most people tend to live in cities that suits their lifestyle.

For example, Western Canada has a moderate climate (less warm summer and less cold winters when compared to cities like Toronto or Montreal). The further you go up north, the colder and heavier precipitation it is. Another determining factor is the proximity to the water.

Canada is a country that continues to strive to be fair to its citizens. Some services like health care, social services and welfare system to the less privileged are provided, but this ain’t actually free because Canadians pay taxes to the government, who then use such funds to provide these services.

This is the same for several other services provided by different government agencies. The police provide safety and community policing, the military defends the country from external threat, the fire service and other first responders also provide well appreciated services to all Canadians. However, while all these services may appear to be free, they are mostly paid for by taxpayers.

If you live in Canada, then you have to file your taxes yearly. Then you will know how much you need to pay and sometimes you pay nothing or get a refund. More information about filing taxes can be provided to our clients at no cost. These we can also help our clients with through our partner experts.

The major problems new immigrants face are language barriers, employment, accommodation, cultural differences, weather and much more. Ability to access services can also be an issue if you are new to Canada.

Suitability to available jobs can be an issue. New immigrants often face systemic discrimination and that can contribute to them not getting a good job on time. Speaking either English or French will be a good thing.

Most new immigrants will need a new Drivers licence to be able to drive, some can use the same one from their home country or they can update it through the provincial offices.

Lots of government and community services are available to make it easy for newcomers to settle down

Canada is one of the best countries in the world. Mostly peaceful and safe. The economy is very strong and the citizens earn a good income. Canada is a democratic country, prime ministers are chosen through an election. The Prime Minister is the head of Government, while Queen Elizabeth is the head of state.

Canada is a very diverse country with a welcoming immigration system. Toronto is the most populated city, followed by Vancouver and Montreal. Canada is a bilingual country, French and English are the primary and official languages. A capitalist economy with social safety nets provided for those in need.

Canada has some of the worlds best education system, hospitals, mining companies and much more. Canada is a very competitive in world sports. Toronto Raptors won the NBA to become the undisputed champions. Hockey is still the national sports game. Also many travel to participate in Stampede, Caribana, and much more.

Canada has very few negatives. Although this will be based on individual opinions.

The good thing is what may be termed negative is still far better than other countries. Another good thing to know is Canada does all it can to be a better and more inclusive society.

It can be expensive to live in some cities, but it’s a good thing the country has other cheaper, more affordable and often smaller cities. A 1 bedroom apartment may cost over $900 monthly in Toronto, and Vancouver, while same space and accommodation may cost approximately $700 monthly in Edmonton, Montreal, Ottawa, Saskatoon, and Winnipeg.

Some items are more expensive in Canada in comparison to the US. Also some jobs pay more in Canada while others pay more in the US. Regardless, Canadians pay more in taxes than the US and some other countries. It’s believed that Canada provides more for it’s citizens than the United States of America those for its citizens.

EXPRESS ENTRY

The answers below may not always be current because the Canadian immigration rules usually change ongoing due to many factors.

Express Entry is a system that caters for Canada’s economic immigration programs: Federal Skilled Worker, Canada Experience Class and Federal Skilled Trade. Candidates with the most points are selected based on factors such as age, level of education, work history and language proficiency.

Under the Express Entry program, the highest ranked candidates are selected from the pool and issued an Invitation to Apply for Permanent Residence in Canada within a time-frame.

At Resettle In Canada Inc., we work with clients to improve their scores so they can be issued an ITA.

Immigration lottery system exists in some other countries like the US, and not Canada. Express Entry is not a lottery pool system. Rather, candidates are placed in a pool and ranked against each other using selection factors and points. This cumulative score form an aggregate number known as the Comprehensive Ranking Score.

Often, applicants delay the process due to the time they take to put all their documentation together and this is relative. Such delays can be as a result of several challenges and sometimes how much of a priority the process is to them.

Some clients might be required to provide additional documentation to support their claim or verify their information. All this adds to the processing time of the application. However, if all documentation is in place and there are no delays,  processing time for most Express Entry Applications can be 6 months or less.

Yes and No, it depends on the immigration program you applying. Under the Express Entry, candidates are expected to write a language proficiency test in at least one of Canada’s official languages: English or French. Some write both to increase their chances.

STUDY IN CANADA

The answers below may not always be current because the Canadian immigration rules usually change ongoing due to many factors.

Educational institutions in Canada have a history and high reputation for academic performance. Tuition at Canadian Universities are more affordable compared to other universities in the western world. International students can work during their studies to make extra money and also gain canadian work experience. There is also an immigration pathway for international students to obtain permanent residency in Canada upon graduation.

Tuition fees for international students is dependent on several factors such as: Province, Program of study and Level of study (Undergraduate or Postgraduate). In Canada, the provincial and territorial governments are in charge of education. Most banks and lenders do not loan funds to international students.

However, there are some financing options available to international students from some canadian institutions. The financial aid office of a university or college can also offer some assistance in this regard.

There have been instances where international students obtain scholarships, awards or low interest loans from the government of their country of citizenship.

Prior to arriving in Canada, an international student must provide sufficient evidence and convince an Immigration officer of their ability to pay their tuition and living expenses during their studies in Canada.

However, there are various work permit programs for international students and their spouses during their studies in Canada. Each of these work permits have their conditions and restrictions which international students must abide by.

Examples of such programs include:

– Off-Campus work permit which permits an international student to work to a maximum of 20 hours per week during academic sessions and full-time at the end of the semester

– Co-op or internship work permit is available to international students whose academic program includes an internship or co-op component prior to graduation

– International students with valid study permits and full time status at eligible Canadian Colleges or Universities can work on campus at the institution of their study without a work permit

– Spousal work permits are also available for the spouse or common-law partner of an international student who has a valid study permit and is valid for the same period as the study permit.

All level of study is permitted for international students from elementary, high school, language programs, college/vocational, university and graduate students provided they are designated learning institutions (DLI).

Admission requirements and procedures vary from school to school so it is important that international students meet the requirements of the school program before they will be issued a letter of acceptance.

Several factors come into play when it comes to admission in Canada. Qualifications, intent and genuinity of the applicant’s documentation are some of such factors. You must also demonstrate your proficiency in one of Canada’s official languages (English/French) and filed income taxes in at least 3 years during the last 5 years.

INVEST IN CANADA

The answers below may not always be current because the Canadian immigration rules usually change ongoing due to many factors.

There is no place under Canadian Immigration that states owning a property is a guarantee to obtaining canadian citizenship. To obtain citizenship, one must meet the eligibility criteria and be admissible to Canada. However, there is a business immigration stream for foreign investors to obtain permanent residency in Canada. Foreigners can buy properties or real estate in Canada but this will not give them special privileges or exemption from the qualification process for permanent residency.

The exact processing time for a business investor application depends on the type of application as there are several types of business programs. In Canada, business immigration programs are run both on federal and provincial level. The estimated processing time can vary 21 to 54 months.

Of course not, paying more processing fees or applying for the most expensive business immigration program cannot expedite the process.

It is important to note that meeting the requirements and fulfilling the terms of the business immigration makes an applicant eligible to apply for permanent residence in Canada. In other to become a citizen, the applicant must fulfill his or her residency obligations and meet all requirements detailed in the Citizenship Act.

Unfortunately, no. One cannot move the investment from one business immigration program to another. Each program has its unique set of requirements and criteria that has to be adhered to and fulfilled in other to be eligible to apply for permanent residence application.
